Are you supposed to wear underwear with thermal underwear?

Q. I'm going skiing and will have a set of thermal underwear on. Should I wear boxers under the thermal underwear or not?

A. You should wear something so you don't get chapped skin. Thermals are kinda rough on the bare skin. Especially there. Extra sensitive down there. Boxers might be uncomfortable. If you can breathe in Tity Whiteys I'd wear them. If you choke in em, wear a size larger. The thermals kinda keep ya in there tight already so you don't wanna die trying to move down the slopes. (Trying to fix your boxers or give yourself some air in the tight titys.)

I am going to Ireland in April. Apparently it will be pretty cold. Thermal underwear, yes or no?
Q. I live in the Southern United States. Will I need thermal underwear to be comfortable in Ireland or is it overkill?

A. lol, no. thats like the sterotype that Irish men wear wolly underwear or knited underwear of which neither is true.

Switzerland: can I wear ski pants (the exercise ones) as thermal underwear?
Q. I'll be going to Switzerland in December and I have read that thermal underwear is a must for the cold. However I already own 4 pairs of ski-pants in which I exercise and I figured I could just use them instead.
Am I wrong?

A. yes u can

Do thermal underwear work in winter?
Q. I like wearing jumpers in Winter but all of mine are THIN as so I end up freezing if I wear them with no thicker outerwear. I'm wondering if wearing thermal underwear would keep me warm enough so that I won't need a jacket on some days?

And do long johns keep your legs really warm? Jeans aren't warm enough, even when I wear my skinnies.

A. yes they work, you can also wear winter tights if you prefer

What should I wear as a base layer for skiing?
Q. I am a first time skiier. I heard that it's best to wear synthetic materials to keep the moisture away from the skin. Would thermal underwear that are 60% cotton and 40% Poleyester be okay, or do I need to buy expensive underlayers from a sporting goods store? any suggestions where I can get something inexpensive?

A. If you don't want to blow a bunch of money on your first time, 60/40 thermal underwear will be OK. If you can find some 100% synthetic pajama bottoms to wear under snow pants, that works well too. I picked up a wicking synthetic shirt by Starter at Wal-Mart a few months ago for $13. It's not as breathable as my more expensive thermal shirts, but it is warm and dries quickly.
