I am a male who loves to wear tight spandex lycra. Is this ok?

Q. Just wondering if it's okay for a male to wear leggings, bike shorts etc ? A lot of women wear lycra, especially swimsuits, capri pants and leggings and I want to do the same. Thanks
I'm not getting much support here !! Does anyone want to see me in smooth and shiny and tight lycra spandex?

A. Well personally, I LOVE seeing people express themselves differently. Not meaning necessarily that everyone will ENJOY seeing you in spandex, but many will enjoy that you're being different and not caring what anyone thinks. I really like it when people wear what they want to, thats just a different way of showing your personality. If someone doesn't like the way you dress, move on, they're obviously so superficial that they can't accept unique people! I say GO for it, and have FUN! =]

Hope I helped!! <333

how can i make my mom let me wear a dress without leggings?
Q. :( she's so old fashioned.

A. Your mum is probably saying this because she wants to encourage modesty. I'm pretty sure the fashion of leggings with a tunic/dress is on its way out. I often wear spandex type shorts (look for thin material with delicate seams rather than bike shorts) underneath dresses. They range from boycut panties to knee length and do not show below the hem unless your skirt flies up, you sit akwardly etc. I find them comfortable and I don't want to flash someone accidentally. There are silky ones for evening dresses too.

You may be able to allay some of your mother's fears by choosing dresses/skirts that aren't more than a hand's width above your knee (anything above that usually isn't very classy anyways). I'd mention to your mother that your maturing, you will act ladylike when wearing skirts (instead of doing cartwheels like when you were eight). Its a natural part of growing up. I'd also take the time to rediscover all the different types of pantyhose and tights available in every pattern, fabric, and style. I like thicker tights in the winter, and in colors like royal blue, forest green, or patterned with a charcoal skirt. Its warm and a more elegant look than the capri length tights. Your mum maybe happy with sheer pantyhose, however thats probably too dressy for day to day.

You could try ripping out magazine photos of girls in skirts that look modest and age-appropriate, fashion forward without tights. Try cosmogirl, teen vogue, and girl's life. Most important when wearing down a parent to your point a view is don't lose your cool when they first say no. Throwing a hissy fit doesn't prove that your a young woman who can dress herself, continue to bring evidence and don't push the envelope too much at a time. Small steps can bring parents around without them noticing.

Good luck.

What were those pants that women wore a couple of years ago?
Q. they were like spandex pants/yoga pants today

but they were still tight in the butt and then they just hung and were baggy at the knee

they are like the opposite of MCHammer's parachute pants
they had a certain name
they were tight in the butt area like yoga pants or spandex or leggings, but they would get more loose and baggy as they got to the knee

A. Capri pants?

how do you distinguish footless tights and leggings?
Q. are they the same thing or are they different?

A. Most of the time they're the same thing, such as for sports tights/leggings, and most of the women's fashion leggings. But while footless tights are ankle length, some of the fashion leggings may be shorter, like capri length. Also, sometimes leggings can have more of a close fit than a skintight stretch fit. For example, the description of this men's underwear calls them leggings: http://store.americanapparel.net/rsa4402.html I think if footless tights are what you want to talk about, it's best to call them that to avoid confusion.

As far as materials go, footless tights can also be made out of different kinds of materials, so I don't think that's a good way to distinguish them.

what if a guy were to wear capri and leggings under his shorts?
Q.

A. If you can pull it off that is pretty gangsta. Im not sure everyone could though. Never wear white leggings though. No one, man or woman, ever should. It is not flattering.
